Fifty-six youths enjoyed pulling in fish at the 28th Annual Youth Fishing Derby held June 1. Everyone received drawstring bags with goodies inside and a door prize. The Friends of Iroquois NWR sponsored the event and handed out prizes and trophies to the winning anglers.

First, second and third were handed out to three age groups for the biggest fish caught. Additionally, two new trophies were awarded this year. The Most Persistent Angler was awarded for catching the greatest total length of all fish caught, and the Catch ‘Em All Angler was awarded for the most species caught.
