The event was held from 5:00 until 7:45 PM at the Cayuga Pool overlook platform. Twenty-four participants were able to see 280 egrets come to roost. An early highlight was a Red-necked Phalarope seen very close to the viewing platform that was seen at close range in the scopes by many. The phalarope was still present at dark.

Thanks to all the participants for attending and special thanks to Anne Dayer and Bill Watson, respectively, for staying focused on counting on the left and right, as the egrets arrived!

The evening ended with a sunset described by one participant as the color of a pink gladiola and with the sound of the Black-crowned Night Herons ‘quarking’.
